The person who makes the next slide appear.
Hi, I'm Andrew. When a speaker clicks and the right thing happens on a very large screen, that's usually me at the back of the room. AEGFX LTD is my company and it's just me, so the person you book is the person who turns up.
What I'm doing at the back of the room
Corporate events only. Sometimes a single breakout room, sometimes a wall of screens in Frankfurt, Barcelona or New Delhi. Same job really, just more cables.
Presentation playback
Decks arrive late, change at lunch and occasionally get renamed final_FINAL_v3. I keep them running cleanly from rehearsal to the last session.
Vision switching
Barco E2 and Event Master. A simple picture in picture or a wide multi-screen show, I'm happy driving either.
Video and show control
vMix Pro, Millumin, Resolume Arena and QLab. Playback that is cued, tested and boringly reliable. Boring is good here.
Motion graphics
Openers, stings, holding loops and awards graphics, built in After Effects for the screens they'll actually play on.
Show networks
When the machines stop talking to each other five minutes before doors, I'm usually the one under the desk finding out why.
My own kit
I've got my own show machines and QLab playback laptops, so I can turn up ready to go rather than borrowing someone else's.
The evidence
No showreel, I'm afraid. Most of my best work happens when nobody notices it. These will have to do.
Things I built because I needed them
Every so often a show throws up the same annoying problem one time too many, so I write something to fix it.
Got a show coming up?
Send me the dates, the venue and a rough idea of the setup. I'll reply myself, obviously.
